If it says that the stock cost .12 and i buy 5000$ worth will the bid/ask difference change if i actually get it at that price?
The price of a stock is determined where bids and ask's meet.
On etrade and all online brokerages you can select what kind of order you want.
For now I suggest just learnbuy at bid or asking "马克et" and "Limit"
Never put an order in to buy or sell at market, doing this it buys or sells at the market price, what you see on the live quote.
Limit you put in a price you want to buy or sell at, you can keep an order in good up to 60 days on etrade or you can just dbuy at bid or asko it "good for the day"
There are other methods of buying and selling on etrade but these are the main two.
So the final answer is just put in a LIMIT price to buy at "0.12" and the order will only be executed if the bid price goes to, or below 12 cents.
